To configure an email account in Outlook Express 5 / 6 :
- Open Outlook Express
- Click the Tools menu
- Select Accounts

- Click Add, then click Mail

- Type the name in Display name as you want it to appear in the Email From: field
- Click Next


- Click Next
- Confirm the Incoming mail server is set to POP3
- Set Incoming mail (POP3, IMAP or HTTP) server to the mail.mydomain.com (eg. mail.freedomtogroove.com)
- Set Outgoing mail (SMTP) server to mail.mydomain.com (eg. mail.freedomtogroove.com)

- Click Next
- The Account name field displays the Email username (your full email address eg. user@freedomtogroove.com)
Outlook Express can remember your password, if prompted to do so. To enable this feature:
- Enter the password in the Password field (displays as *********)
- Click a checkmark in the Remember password box
- Remove the check mark to require the password each time Email is accessed
- Ensure that Secure Password Authentication is NOT checked
- Click Next


You are returned to the Internet Accounts dialogue box. Please continue to follow the instructions on how to configure the SMTP authentication.
- Click Properties to go into to the properties of the account you just setup

- Select Servers tab on the top of the mail properties dialogue box
- Ensure that My servers required authentication IS checked
- Click on Settings

- Select Log on using
- Type your full email address in Account Name
- Type your password in Password
- Click OK
- Close all dialogue boxes

You are now ready to send/receive using Outlook Express
